Can anyone explain the title given to the
Goudey Boy Scout set of the 1930s?

the "Some Boy Gum" title seems odd,
but I admit I wasn't a boy scout.

Anyone ?

Well Dan, I've been thinking about your question and even done some web research and haven't come up with any definitive answer. However, I do think the name "Some Boy" has the meaning of "That is SOME Boy!" with the emphasis on Some, indicating the boy is something special.

Whatever the meaning, I don't think the public liked the title very much. Unless anyone else knows why the bottoms (where the title is) of so many Some Boy/Boy Scout cards have been cut off. It makes it kinda hard to collect the set. - Jack J.
