What are the Top Collecting ( Names/Themes?Subjects etc)  in the Non-Sport Card World ?

In baseball it is : Ruth, Cobb, Mantle, Gehrig and in the  Modern Area :  Trout.

What's your opinion in Non-Sports Collecting ?

The names that came to me first were : Superman, The Beatles, Star Wars, Star Trek. Areas of interest are: Civil War ( War Cards in general ), Space, Superheroes, Music, TV, Movies, Presidents (Political ) etc.

It probably is also an age thing. I agree with your list, however at one time I would have included Tarzan (one of my favorites), Buck Rogers, Flash Gordon, Western Stars like Hopalong Cassidy & Roy Rogers. Probably many younger collectors today are barely aware of them.

I'd add Davy Crocket...he has a lot of early cards in addition to the 1956 Topps sets.  George Washington is always popular as well.

As mostly a 30-40s collector themes are more like airplanes, pirates, cowboys and Indians, war, animals, etc. Not really any specific “names” that I’m chasing. The 50-70s stuff doesn’t interest me as much. I always think that I wasn’t alive for the 50-60s so I’m not interested but I wasn’t alive in the 30-40s either and I love that stuff.
