One of my favorite tobacco sets is my 1932 green front “A History of Aviation” (L8-52-A) and 1933 brown front “A History of Aviation” (L8-52-B) 25-card aeroplane card sets.  Both in near mint condition.

During 1932 and 1933, Lambert & Butler’s Cigarettes issued two “A History of Aviation” 25-card sets of “aeroplane” cigarette trade cards.  Both sets were identical except for the tint of the card fronts and backs.  The cards feature a chronology of aviation attempts, flops, milestones, and significant accomplishments from the 1843 Cayley “Aerial Carriage” up to the 1931 Vickers Supermarine Roll-Royce S.6.B. “Schneider Cup” racer. (Side note:  The S.6.B. morphed into the Spitfire.)

The following video of the 1932 set is on my “Skytamer Images” YouTube channel.  I currently have over 40+ non-sports card sets on YouTube.  Check them out.

John, I can certainly see why you like that set! What crazy aircraft they came up with.
