I recently picked up the "Pat Roach" collection. I don't know anything about the cards but was intrigued by the offering out of Canada. I dropped the pages in the sink with hot water for removal and it turned out to be a rather difficult soak with somewhat mixed results. But it did reveal two cards with interesting "War Savings Certificates" backs one with a picture of Winston Churchill. There are some of these cards on ebay with playing card backs listed as 1941 WC Macdonald cards, does anyone have any other information?

The first lot is ACC designated C166 - C167 1939-1948 War Planes and War Ships; Chris Watson includes them in his NSB, pages 140-150.
The second lot are also Canadian issued, c. 1942 by Grolier Society, from a set of 25 War Planes.
