Does anyone have any info on the Liberty Bell Bird Club Cards - see photo. The logo of the club contains the words "Farm Jounal" as this journal sponsored the bird club, but were they given away by the journal or ....?  Anyone know how many different birds were issued? Thanks, Andy

Looks like they were distributed by mail order, as part of a "club" for children.

The Liberty Bell Bird Club was created in 1913 by The Farm Journal magazine.  Under the magazine’s national sponsorship the club grew quickly attaining several hundred thousand members in just a few years.              I don’t know how long the organization lasted but references to it drop off sharply after the mid 1920’s.

A 1915 club membership booklet states that 17 of the bird cards were available with more expected in the future.  I am aware of 27 images so far.  New members received 3 cards as noted on the membership card scan that Steve posted.  The others were sold to club members in sets of 5.
