1964 Topps Johnson VS Goldwater

Ebay always has a few wrappers available for sale, but I never see cards?

What's up with that?

I agree, the cards are not offered all that often.  Kinda weird.

Well I'm not surprised that a black and white gum set of a political event did not excite kids. I would think that the Topps guy who came up with the idea was soon sacked!

It's likely the packs didn't sell at all well.  Along those lines I suspect that a lot of unsold packs and boxes were returned to Topps which accounts for the abundance of unopened material.

Given the chance to get a Mickey or Willie from a 1964 Topps Baseball pack or this beauty, what would you choose?

Does anybody have the entire checklist for thus set available? In search of it to figure out a set for a friend of mine. I have like half the set figured out. Looking for all the blurbs on the back of the cards.

Any possible help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!

Todd’s site has the complete checklist I believe.

http://www.non-sport.com/ and search for R714-33

I tried to join the site but I can't subscribe for some reason. Tried to email to get some info but the message wouldn't go through. Apparently, the site doesn't like me. lol

Not sure if that site contains the entire "blurb" on the back of the card or just the short snippet at the start. But thank you for sending me there. Appreciated.

you shouldn't have to join......it's open for anyone to use for now...........

Hmmm. Not sure what the issue is then. Is Todd on here? Maybe he can help me with the info Im looking for since it is his site. Anyone able to point me in his direction?

Hi Jay,

Yeah, I always have big plans for the site but have no time to work on it. What is it you are looking for concerning that set?

Todd

Hi Todd.

I was wondering if you happen to have the complete blurbs on the back of the cards at all. Like the write-ups on the back of each of the cards. I know you have the starts of each of them (as do I) but looking to add the rest of said blurb to the set. I have several of them, but there are still quite a few that Im missing.

Jay,
No. I don't have the full backs stored anywhere at this time.

Bill Oliver sent 4 different wrappers and a few fronts/backs.  Thanks Bill.

Have those ones written down now. Thanks to those that have submitted so far. Definitely appreciated.

I can provide scans in a week or ten days. Any special format? Where do I send them?
Larry

Thank you for all the responses so far. This is helping immensely. Very much appreciated.

Dan I sent a scan of card #2 via private message here. Or should I just post the images in this thread for you to use?
Larry

And from Larry ..... thanks, Larry
