Anyone here win the box in last nights REA auction for $60,000? Does the inventory note on the label of 1933 surprise anyone? This has always been listed as a 1935 issue in all the guides. When I see stuff like this I always hope that it stays together and unopened but I wouldn’t be surprised to see graded packs and high grade graded singles start showing up.

This box along with Jim’s R180 Heads Up Gum, the unopened box of 200 R113 Popeye folders in REA, and the R41 Dick Tracy Box in REA have made for some amazing eye candy recently. Some rare and unique stuff is still out there.

Yes. Beautiful stuff Daniel.
The steal of the weekend was the Fo-Lee Superman box.
My youngest daughter got married saturday and I'm a bit strained for
cash wise or I would have jumped on it. I believe there are four cards on
the back of the box, which were not shown, though I dont know why.

Just saw this, I bought the Mickey box. I am planning on keeping it together.

Can someone please post the link from the Rea auction that featured the Fo-lee gum Superman box mentioned above. I can't seem to find it. Thanks in advance.

Jim,

Here is the REA link https://bid.robertedwardauctions.com/bids/bidplace?itemid=60306

Hakes might have been a better place to sell it as they just sold a lesser box (with only 80 sticks of gum instead of the 100 for the complete box sold by REA) for a lot more money. Theirs is here

https://www.hakes.com/Auction/ItemDetail/238066/FO-LEE-SUPERMAN-BUBBLE-GUM-RARE-BOXED-PACKAGE-WITH-CUT-OUT-CARDS

Maybe you were right about how not showing the box back was crazy. It certainly hurt the sale price.
